Shopping

Shopping is one of the best reasons to 'take a break' from the beach and explore the local establishments in our charming Caribbean towns.

St. Thomas has some of the most famous 'duty free' shopping in the world both downtown in historic Charlotte Amalie and at the Havensight port, with many branch locations at major resorts.

Shopping in Downtown Charlotte Amalie is a special treat as you discover the charming streets (called Gades), alleys and passages that run through the historic warehouse district that used to store exotic spices, rum and molasses.

Today, they feature some of the most famous boutiques in the world along with art galleries, bargain liquor, jewelry, watches and local Caribbean arts and crafts.

St. John also features a number of quaint shops in Cruz Bay and at its resorts. Many of the shops boast locally-crafted items that you simply cannot find anywhere else.

On St. Croix, you'll want to visit Christiansted and explore shops along the King's Alley Boardwalk and surrounding lanes. In Frederiksted, shop along Strand Street after visiting historic Fort Frederick. Many of the larger hotels and resorts offer a 'shopping shuttle' or can arrange a taxi or car rental for shopping.
