Last Minute Memorial Day Getaway to USVI

The smallest of the three main US Virgin Islands, Saint John is world-famous for its beautiful beaches, crystal clear blue waters and jungle-like foliage. Once a playground for the likes of the Rockefellers, St. John is a wonderful place to bring the entire family for fun in the sun and surf.
Enjoy the Pan-O-Rama, a music festival featuring native steel-pan musicians playing live music that takes place at the Winston Wells Ball Field all weekend at Cruz Bay and you’ll understand while it’s nicknamed the Love City. The largest of the US Virgin Islands, St, Croix holds special outdoor movie nights on the grassy field at historic Fort Christiansvaern. Sponsored by the National Park Service, this free event is open to all. Bring a lawn chair and your own popcorn and enjoy the tropical experience over the Memorial Day weekend.
The St. Croix Rum Festival (Flavor of Rum) is an annual event to promote St. Croix’s historical culture of spirits, food, music and arts. It takes place in Sunday, May 29, at the historical Fort Frederik in Frederiksted overlooking the breath-taking Ann E. Abramson Marine Facility.

Known as the “Gateway Island: of the U.S. Virgin Islands, St. Thomas is famous for snorkeling and sport fishing. The main town, Charlotte Amalie, is the territorial capital and a busy cruise-ship port with great restaurants and island shopping.
Between May 26 and May 30, tennis fans can watch the action at the VI Open Tennis Tournament. Known as the “Wimbledon of the Caribbean,’ it is the only tennis tournament in the U.S. Virgin Islands sanctioned by the USTA’s Caribbean District.
Coral World Ocean Park is a favorite destination among visitors and locals alike. Swim with sea lions, take an underwater Trek along the ocean floor, feed the lorikeets and much more. The Undersea Observatory Tower provides visitors with an ocean view 30 feet below, and the Marine Gardens gallery features 21 different aquariums.
